About Me: I have been practicing as a speech-language pathologist since 2010. I have specifically been working with the pediatric population for the last 8 years. I am familiar with providing services for children aged 6 months to 18 years, with professional pediatric experience focused in the outpatient clinic setting and the school setting. I initially became interested in the area of communication disorders when my mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was in high school. I began my career working with adults with a strong focus in the area of neurological based diagnoses. However, I began working with children and fell in love with the pediatric field, and realized working as a pediatric SLP was my calling. I love everything about being an SLP. I love getting to know my patients and their families. I love building a relationship and helping a child to reach their fullest potential. I appreciate how challenging and rewarding our field can be. A parent recently told me that speech therapy was so important for her child because "to be known, is to be heard" and that speech therapy helped her child to find her voice and to be known to the world. My family recently moved from Texas to Connecticut. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my husband, our son, and our senior collie dog. We love hiking and being outdoors. I also really enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. One of my favorite places to visit so far has been Aoraki Mount Cook National Park on the south island of New Zealand. I look forward to getting to know you and for you to get to know me and together we can help your child be the best they can be!
